Team DeMarini Welcomes The Addition Of Alex Troop

10/20/2012

Picture
Team DeMarini would like to welcome the addition of Alex Troop to the 2013 Koutnik 17U team. The class of 2014 prospect is a 6'3" lefty two way prospect that will add additional depth at the plate, in the field and on the mound for Team DeMarini.

The Junior at Marmion Academy in North Aurora played a big roll on his varsity team as sophomore this past season and will be the foundation of the Cadets this coming year. Although Alex is new to the DeMarini organization he has played with a number of players on our DeMarini teams including Tyler Halas and Ke'Bryan Hayes this past summer on the Future Elite. He will also be reunited with grammar school and childhood friend Laren Eustace who lives in the same home town of Batavia.

Alex will be continuing to work this off-season on his pitching with Tampa Rays Pitching coach RC Lichtenstein who will be serving as a Team DeMarini pitching coach this fall. This will be the fifth season that Alex has worked with RC and we expect that he will only continue to get better.

We asked coach Charlie Hayes about Alex and he said, "We love Alex on the mound and in the field, but his bat is something special! Alex will bring additional offense to the team and will only continue to get better as he plays the top competition around the country that Team DeMarini is scheduled to play".

As both players get ready for the Perfect Game World Championships in Jupiter, Florida next week, they should be ready to make their selections shortly after they return home from the largest scouted event.

Picture
This past weekend Team DeMarini sent three players from their Class of 2015 Hayes team to the University Of Tennessee for their prospect showcase in Knoxville, Tennessee. Making the trip were Tyler Halas, Ke'Bryan Hayes and Jason Sullivan.

This three day event included instruction from the UT coaching staff as well as a showcase workout and games over Saturday and Sunday. All three boys made a great showing at the event which was mostly made up of juniors and seniors.

Tyler Halas who has been on the UT recruiting board since entering high school when Todd Raleigh and Ash Lawson were coaching received confirmation that new Coach Dave Serrano and Bill Mosiello are still interested and his name is still on the board.

Adding his name to that board is Ke'Bryan Hayes with his strong showing at the three day event. the coaching staff was really impressed with Ke'Bryan at third base and his hitting and approach in the cages and games speaks for itself.
The boys will get some additional looks from the UT coaching staff this weekend in Ft. Myers, Florida at the Underclass World Championships and on October 25-29th when both Tyler and Ke'Bryan head to Jupiter, Florida for the WWBA World Championships.
