Ke’Bryan is currently ranked in the (class of 2015) top 100 and #13 in the state of Texas by Perfect game USA. He is the youngest son of Charlie Hayes, who spent 14 years in the major leagues and was a member of the 1996 World Series Champion New York Yankees. Ke’Bryan is a 6’1”, 215 pound 3rd base/pitcher that displays superior talent with both the bat and glove. This talented two-way athlete projects well beyond his age and will continue to improve as he moves into his college career.
Hayes has visited Tennessee a number of times in the past few years. His interest has continued to grow and led to an unofficial visit this past September to meet with head coach Dave Serrano and assistant Bill Mosiello. It was during this meeting that Hayes finalized his decision to commit to the SEC school. With the addition of Hayes, Tennessee will be adding another outstanding top prospect from the class of 2015.
“I have visited Tennessee a few times now and have been very impressed with all the school has to offer. I love the small town atmosphere of Knoxville. My conversations with coach Serrano and assistant coach Mosiello have been great, and I believe that the Tennessee program will be a quality program in which to further my baseball skills. My dream is to play in the College World Series, and I think Tennessee will definitely afford me the opportunity to realize my dream. I also like that I will have the opportunity to play baseball and go to school with my current teammate and good friend Tyler Halas.”
Adds his father Charlie, “ Ke’Bryan is a good kid with talent and a very hard worker. When he plays a good game, he comes home and works hard to improve, and when he plays a bad game, he comes home and works even harder to correct his mistakes. One thing I have always told Ke’Bryan is not to focus on numbers but to just work hard and always try to get better. He is far more advanced at his age than I was, and he has a bright future if he continues to work at improving his game.
The Team DeMarini family would like to congratulate Ke’Bryan and his family on his commitment. We are very excited for both Ke’Bryan and Tyler, and the University of Tennessee has picked up two of the best players in the class of 2015. With these current commitments it gives Team DeMarini three SEC commits in the last two months, and we should be seeing a few more in the weeks to come.
