On August 18-19th DeMarini Coach Jared Koutnik took seven of his elite players to the All-American Prospect showcase hosted by the Midwest Pelicans organization at Kent State University in Kent, Ohio. 140 prospects were on hand to work with college coaches from the 2012 College World Series Kent State University as well as coaches from Vanderbilt, Kentucky, Auburn, Stetson, Boston College, Cincinnati, Memphis, Marietta, Miami Of Ohio, Seton Hill College and the San Diego Padres.
Making the trip with coach Koutnik were 2014 prospects Mike Papierski, Charlie Wright, Alex Troop and class of 2015 prospects Tyler Halas, Mitch Boe, Neil Lambert and Nick Blumgren. The weekend showcase started off with a pro style workout followed by instruction from the college coaches and then a series of games on Saturday afternoon and Sunday. The DeMarini group really turned some heads this weekend sparking some immediate interest from the major schools at this event. DeMarini players Mike Papierski and Tyler Halas were given tours of the Kent State Baseball facilities by the Kent State coaches and both walked away impressed with the MAC conference Champions facilities, hardware and Championship rings shown to the boys.
